ok this is a simple question.. im wanting to run 20 pounds of boost... well better yet can i run 20 lbs of boost on a stock motor .. i know the stock turbo isnt up to the job but will a completely stock motor handle 20 lb??? then next question turbos?? im looking for a turbo that can boost 20lbs with ass little lag as possible. and have the simplest install . i was looking at the garett big t28.

my merkur runs a garett t3 stock i love the set up but idk how hard it would be to install a t3 on the eclipse or if its even worth it???

this is just a street car

Dude this is the time you need to search our forums, this question has been asked about a million times.

The only direct bolt on to a 2g is a T28 or T28killer. Common and cheap upgrades are the MHI 16G's and 14b's. Yes, the stock motor can handle 20 psi just fine, assuming good health and proper tuning.

With proper fuel support and tuning you can run 20lbs on the stock engine. I did it for two years with no problems until I pushed it up to 22.5lbs and got some knock that blew my head gasket.

I have no experience with the t28 but a Big or Evo3 16G will spool quickly to 20lbs all day long.

If you have a gst/gsx then 20psi on stock engine is fine as long as all the maintenance is up to date and you have a healthy motor. I run a FP BT28 at 20psi on my daily driver just fine, just remember to get supporting mods first.

Just get a 16G an call it a day. I've been boosting 20psi with a 11:1 air fuel ratio with no problem.
