2 Step Issues

hey guys, my friend recently purchased a dsm, the car is running real good, but i think it has a 2 step feature on it, it wont let me get past 4500 at WOT, is there any way to figure out what is triggering the 2 step, he thought it was Fuel cut, but never tried WOT at stop, so i took it into my own hands to try and see if it was passing 4500, and u can squeeze by it in another gear, but once u give it more rpms she starts bucking ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

the rev & 2step is adjustable (IS IT DSMLINK)??????.

If it is dsm link make sure that the speedometer is reading on the cluster, I had the same problem. If it is link just raise the rpm to above 7k and see if it drives properly. If the speedometer is not working see if it is the cable (normally), if not check the speedo gear as they due strip teeth off, which is what happened to me. If it is the msd 2 step, rewire the tach signal wire and make sure it is not grounded or pinched anywhere. happy boosting.

I had this problem mine. I have the EMS some this might be different. But I was messing around with the software and ended up setting a 5500 rev limit for each gear instead of 2step. Everything you explained was exactly what my car did when i did that.
