Hello,

Info: 95 talon tsi,

The car had misfire issues went dead. Took it to my local guy, leaky diode, burnt coil, arm and a leg to fix. So, doing it my self, had the ECM redone (ECMtuning good people), replaced both coils. Turned the car over and.... fired up but rough, not firing on 2 cylinders. No spark coming from the coil on the right, going to 3 and 2 cylinders. Did some looking on the forums and one possible culprit is the power transistor, testing the transistor is my next step. Are the any other areas I should be testing or giving a closer look at. Any info or guidance is appreciated, thanks.

Yes, the power transistor is hopefully your problem, as they are easy to replace. It could also be the ecu or the wiring from the ecu to the power transistor. It is the ecu's job to send an on/off signal from its coil driver to the power transistor. This on/off signal is what tells the power transistor to fire the coils. If one of the coil drivers in the ecu is not working, or your wiring is not getting that signal to the power transistor you will not get spark on that coil.

Yeah I'd agree on the power transistor, this has happened to me two times and that was the culprit both times.

It's most likely the PT or wiring but can also be the CAS. CAS tells ECU which cyl pair plugs to fire. Note: CPS tells ECU when to fire plugs.
