is a 2.0 head n/t the same as a 2.0 turbo head?

They are the same on the 1G's, but not on the 2G's (completely different motor). I thought for a while that the ports on the 1G non-turbos were smaller than the ports on the turbos, but we pulled the head off of one of my buddies NA 1G's to swap it on his 97 Turbo and they are the same exact heads.

well i have a 1g head and it has cams and i was wondering if i can use it to the the head swap for my car. i mean the cams are the same to right? ooh does ANY one know if i could just bolt on 1g manifold on my 2g? or do i have to modify that to?

The head will work just fine. you do need turbo cams because they are different than n/t cams but the heads are the same head. There is a bolt you have to take out of the n/t head where the turbo oil feed line goes then just get the banjo bolt and hook up the turbo feed line. now if you going to use a turbo head on a non turbo just do the opposit of what i said.
good luck ~kevin

I am guessing that you are talking about the intake manifold, since swapping the exhaust manifolds would be a downgrade. If you are talking about the intake manifold and want to bolt it to the 1G head when it's swapped on your car then that is fine. It will bolt up once you figure out how to mount the MAP sensor. If you are talking about bolting it to your 2G head then that's not a good idea. The ports on the 1G intake manifold are a lot bigger and won't line up right. When the air coming out of the manifold hits that wall it will create a lot of turbulance and actually hurt performance.
