My car initially had 2.5" exhaust, fuel pump, boost control, boost gauge, narrowband air/fuel gauge, and a small 16g. But now that I've finally got a freshly rebuilt engine, I can start a new upgrade path. So whats the first step? Emissions removal and a new intake pipe of course!
Once I have to ability to post a tech article I will, but this will have to work for now. The emission removal seemed scary at first but it wasn't that bad. I feel a lot better now that that crap is gone and the Talon is happier too!
Here is a pic with the battery and intake removed.
Here is the charcoal canister ripe for removal.
Some of the removed vacuum lines connected to a bolt which I was able to remove. I didn't like keeping the vacuum hookups because it looks bad in my opinion. So I cut it off.
Here is my cleaned MAS, freshly oiled K&N filter, and new Dejon intake pipe.
I rotated this bracket to give the filter something to stand on since obviously the mounts on the airbox are gone. I figured it would yield more airflow underneath the air filter and take some stress off of the coupler connections.
Here is all the crap I removed. Also it was filthy.
And finally the finished product!
Next step, new spark plugs/valve cover cleanup and cruise control removal. Still working on understanding how to remove the cruise control.
