1st gear grinds

hi my friend has a 95 eclipse gsx and it grinds in first gear and was wondering it he has to take the transmission out of the car to fix that or if he can just pull the side cover off and get to the syncro's and shift forks? maybe someone else has had this problem and found and easy was to fix

It could be a clutch engagement issue.. I would first check into that but if that is right then the trans must be pulled...

Could be clutch adjustment or cable adjustment too... I would try all the small things before tearing that sucker out ... Good luck!

Adjust your CMC and make sure no air is in the lines.
