This month I plan on getting my whole motor rebuild if all goes to plan. I have a lot of parts collected so far just need a little bit more then I'm done. I brought all of my oem seals and gaskets and a few aftermarket parts to go along with the build. My goal is to have a more reliable dsm and a fun daily driver

my part list what i brought so far :
Oem seals and gaskets ( all important oil seal )
ARP head studs & main studs
Cosmetic multi layer head gasket
Supertech valve stem seals
NGK spark plugs and wires
Gates timing belt along with oem balance shaft deletion kit
Gates power steering , alternator , and AC belt
Boost leak tester
Pro sport boost gauge
Hallman pro mbc
Fel-pro oil pan gasket
Oem oil drain plug with crush washer
Water pump ( import direct ) fairly new installed already
Ngr type S bov
powder coated valve cover by Justin at detective coating
oem valve cover gasket kit with evo half moon
oil feed line and oil pressure sending unit line
STM rewire fuel pump kit
injen new couplers and clams and 4.5' air filter ( nano web )

Parts I have installed on my car already :
Punishment racing fmic
Greddy type s bov
Greddy turbo timer
Srs cat back
Mhi evo III 16g
Injen short ram intake with k&n 4.5'' filter
Evo III exhaust manifold
Unknown 02 housing ( came with my 16g )
walbro 190lph fuel pump

Parts I need to finish my build :
ACL rod and main bearings
Piston rings
3g lifters

Things I still want :
Rebuild my turbo ( not sure on the condition of the turbo since i got it used )
FP manifold ( undecided )
Innovate wideband MTX ( i really need this )
New tires for my evo 8 wheels ( not installed yet still on my 16'' chrome gst Wheels witch my tires now are really bad LOL so i figure this would be a good time to switch to the evo 8's )

Now here's the part I need advice with should I go more towards internal work like forged internals like pistons and rods or use my oem pistons and get new piston rings. new valves or just get a valve job ? New springs and new retainers or use my old springs and retainers ?

I have a little over 2k to spend I still need machine work and pay my friend for labor I might add .So I want to spend my money wisely

The only thing that's holding me back on upgrading everything is my spending limit I might have to leave some things out for now since I have a dead line for my car to be done. I need to get my registration and tags by April 8th and this is my only car to drive

you should be fine with oem pistons and internals. as long as you upgrade the hardware and the bearings you could easily put down 400hp reliably. im in the middle of rebuilding my gst as well. I bought oem pistons and rings, arp head studs, main studs and rod bolts. with all acl bearings. Ive got a mhi small 16g with ported evo3 hotside and adjustable wastegate actuator. our builds are nearly identical LOL. If you have to be on a budget use all your old valves and springs just get new seals and guides and dont forget a 3 or 5 angle valve job. Im pretty sure that would get the job done.

that's awesome so we have the same goal :D i already have new valve stem seals but i probably should get some valve guides witch brand should i get ?

Id reccomend stock pistons/rods with new bearings. Get the crank checked and block honed. Full valve job on head by a a shop that knows the 4G63

yeah i need to get the crank checked and i plan on getting the block re honed

for piston rings what do you guys recommend far as brand ?

Npr pistons if your getting oem ones there everywhere valve stems can be bought at many places too, oem replacement.

I already have valve stem seals "supertech ". NPR I was thinking about them I heard they are pretty good for oem replacements . Valve guides is what I need I haven't even put them on my list yet
