1gb rear bumper lettering instead of sticker?

Hi Everyone! I got a 1992 GSX (black exterior color) a little while ago. One thing I always wondered and can't find much info on is why does my car have the individual letting built into the rear bumper instead of the sticker? Was this a build option on the car? Appreciate any insights!

It's not built in. It's "bubble" lettering and it is a sticker.

Thank you for the insights. The car must have been repainted because it looked like it was part of the bumper and they probably just painted over it.
