2G 1g water pipe on 2g what fitting for coolant?

I have tired several local options and they either don't work or are too long. I'm fed up as this is really the holdup on putting the motor back together. I'm not looking for a an fitting option with lines. It's a hand me done build built for fun and I want to but the correct fitting and not something I something I would show off at a show.

A fitting for the 1G water pipe, as in the turbo coolant return? A M16 x 1.5 thread fits that. Chances are you won't find a fitting for it locally.

That's what Im finding. I know a 3/8 flare fitting fits perfect, has to be a flare fitting....only problem is I can find a union in that size and a female fitting but its too long and hits the block. So I figure oh well unless somebody tells me to go to STM and buy this or that....I may just leave that union on and just put the hose on that? Thanks!

I know this is a month old but...

I used a fitting from a local parts store. it was a flare nut on a 3" piece of metal line. threaded in perfectly.

It was a 16 mm fitting for GM fuel filters. I had to cut the end off and flare it properly but it looks stock otherwise.
