1g uicp with 2g tb elbow question

hey i was wondering if you needed to port out the 2g tb elbow to match the inside of the old 1g like this link says:

also what size in diameter is the 2g tb elbow?

It wouldn't be worth it to just put the 2g tb elbow on without porting it. The inside is smaller than the 1g one. I just put my gasket onto it and ported it to match.
