I'm finishing the 6 bolt swap on my 2G. I have a 1G turbo water pipe, but I'm using the 90 style oil filter housing so I'll be blocking off that one line. My question is watering the turbo. I have the factory manual on CD and the diagram makes it look like the water comes out of the water pipe into the turbo, out of the turbo and then into the thermostat housing where the line is supposed to go to the overflow bottle. My question is this: Should the water return line out of the turbo go on top of the thermostat (in the water neck) or under it (in the housing going back to the block). I have two 3/8 NPT ports blocked off so all I need to do is get a barb fitting and it seems to me like it should go under the thermostat so it recirculates even if the thermostat is closed. Any help?
