i have a 1gb and my mechanic installed my new fp green the other day, and he had to block off a water line on the water pipe, next to the alternator, he did this by putting a tube on it and putting a bolt in the end with a hose clamp, but it leaks. he told me to get a 90 water pipe which i did, but when i went to install it today i realized it does not have the water line on the other side of the pipe closest to the water neck that goes under and around my fp green and into the turbo it self, im just very confused about this, can any one shed some light

The cross over pipe on a 90 doesn't have the 2 extra lines because the oil filter adapter was only air cooled.
I believe the other line you are looking for comes off the water outlet housing, which on a 7 bolt goes down to the cooler and on a 6 bolt goes to the turbo.
Not sure why you need to block off a coolant line. If the turbo still needs coolant, all of the lines should still be needed.

You may have gotten a '90 non-turbo water pipe.
  • '90 turbo water pipe (MD147684) will just have the turbo feed without the oil cooler lines.
  • '91-'94 turbo water pipe will have the turbo and cooler lines.
  • '90-'94 non-turbo water pipe (MD171058) will not have any of the turbo or cooler lines.
Are you switching to an air to air oil cooler or bypassing the cooler all together?

Also running a hose and sticking a bolt inside it is a very ghetto way to block it off, especially from a "mechanic" or "shop". Find the correct factory water pipe or have your old one welded shut (it's a steel pipe so it can be easily welded).

*EDIT - I just saw on a vender announcement that JNZ has a few brand new factory water pipes for sale including the '90 turbo water pipe that you are looking for. They are a bit pricy compared to buying a used one but in case you are interested: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/vendor-announcements/419164-who-needs-waterpipes.html
