hey everyone. im building up my talon but i dont know what tuning device i should get.
im going to soon get DSMlink but i dont think i need it right now.

ok first of all, do i need an EPROM ECU for a datalogger or is that just for DSMlink? Because i have a brand new ECU that isnt EPROM and im going to just use that for now but i need a tuning device and i dont know which one to get.

will someone please help? ohh yeah, and what fuel set up do you think i should go with with a t3/t4 turbo? all replies are greatly appreciated. thank you.

T3/T4 is very vague, we need a lot more info on the turbo. you will need some big injectors and you need an eprom for those. If you want to go with a cheap safc you dont want larger than 650cc injectors. And these may not be enough for you setup. I would look for an eprom and have it programmed for your set up. Ohh yea you dont need an eprom for a logger.
 
You don't need an EPROM ECU for a datalogger, you do need an EPROM ECU for DSMlink.

Just read your profile, make sure you get a boost gauge before you do anything. Also I'd like to know if the turbo will work out, so if it decides to go be sure to post something about how long the eBay turbo lasted.
 
ok i will. after it blows im thinking about a 50 trim. i dont really know anything about the turbo. i just bought it off ebay and it didnt really come with specs. i shouldve got a better one but i was really short on cash.
 
funny, my friend bought sn SSAUTOCHROME 50 trim and it seized on our first pull with it. Spend the money and get a real turbo. DSMlink is the way to go (you need an eprom ecu) I went the haltech route and Im kicking myself for it.

I'm running the E6S...the reason being is that on a new motor break in, its almost impossible to have a good tune from the start that is going to be safe. Hence my other post in this forum. On my last engine I went as far as to install the factory harness, ECU, injectors, manifold and turbo for the first 500 miles. My biggest fear this time is washing the rings since I went to 4 1000cc's instead of the last tune of staged injection with 660's and 450's. Call me insane, but after the price of this build I'd like to make it last...read the profile. I will say though that nothing will make more power than an awesome tune on a standalone.

Also, since I'm a "newbie" I can't post in the engine tuning forums to see if anyone out there has a safe tune to run with a similar setup for the initial breakin.

boost, fuel? supporting mods? more injector is safer than not. Never cross the 85 to 90% duty cycle of an injector. Use an injector sizing chart to determine that along with a compressor graph and figure out your desires. Specifics matter.
