1G TPS output voltage?

I have a 90 gst, which was made in October of 89 (if that's any different from other 90s) and I just set the TPS so it outputs .63 volts, like my Haynes manual says, but I've found contradicting answers all over the web, so what should I set it to?

Set it to what the Haynes manual said to set it at. Your going to get a lot of random awnsers on here. I never understood how garage mechanics know what's better than numerous engineers that spent millions to build cars and has a degree, but the garage mechanic says otherwise.

Not trying to sound like a A-hole, but unless your doing something far fetched or it doesn't relate to the car, like fabricating a different motor to fit in the car then listen to the manual!

On a side note: if the manual and a reputable company like ECMtuning(dsmlink) says .63v with the throttle plate closed, then my money's on that spec!

The Factory Service Manuals from Mitsubishi and Chrysler both say to set the output of the 1G TPS to between 0.48v and 0.52v. Which leads to the question where did Haynes pull their number from?

I suggest people using DSMLink follow what Tom says although I've never seen DSMLink have a problem with a correctly operating TPS and IPS set using the factory value.
