1g to 2g Engine swap

I currently have a 93 TSI awd. It needs paint and for sure a new front bumper and could use a new rear bumper. 132,800 miles. I was looking into purchasing a 2gen eclipse with a blown motor, or possibly a complete car for around 2-3 grand. If I get the shell, I would swap my motor and everything into it, and if I were to get the complete car (GS or possibly an RS) I could just get the turbo setup. What are the possibilities here? What would be my best bet at matching this up, and what will work and what wont. My basic thought here is to make my 1g tsi into a 2g gst. Any thoughts help or comments would be great. thanks!

Your mixing about 4 different questions with your post since you didn't break up each question and put it in a "worked out" post.

Here goes...


NO, a gs/rs will not work for a 2g 6bolt swap. You will HAVE to find a gst/gsx 2nd gen if you want to swap your 6bolt into it. Swapping your engine into that car would be "Not_So_Hard" is what I hear. I am having it done to my car at the moment because I don't have the time nor the tools to perform the swap myself.

For your 2nd part um...
A Gs/Rs Dosen't have a "turbo_setup" they are both non-turbo models. If your inquiring if you could take your turbo setup and just "throw" it onto the 420a engine. It dosen't work like that nor is it the same engine setup/manfacturer.

So ya Im glad you made sense out of my post. So now Im going to just look for a blown up gst/x and quit wasting my time looking over the less speedy versions
