Was it the 1g cars that had a higher timing curve???(Keep in mind these questions are for cars with 5*BTDC) For example on a WOT run many 1g guys report 18-22 timing advance.. And well I have a 2g 95 and a 1g 6bolt motor.. I remember reading somewhere a long long time ago that 95s had a weak timing curve.. Is this due to the ECU?? or what controls timing? The reason im asking this is because i have my car set to 5 BTDC and when i make a WOT run with 0 Knock the higest timing i get is 16. I CAN use my dsmlink to raise the timing but i just wanted to know if 16 timing advance is normal for a 95 ecu with a 6bolt? Right now i have taken out 2 degrees of timing from 5K rpm to 8K rpm so the highest my timing reaches is 14 this is to compensate for the 22-24 psi i run on pump.. ALso one more question would i gain more power by running 24psi and taking out 2 degrees timing up top making it 14 with a more lean curve on fuel, Or would i make more with 24Psi on say 18 timing advance with a richer fuel curve up top to keep from knocking????? Let me know Im curious as to get a little more power on pump..
