1g talon runs rough under 3k...help!!!

Okay i just got done putting my car together. the car was running on aem ems and fully built before i bought the shell so i have been trying to figure everything out wiring wise and put it all back together.

I have it running now and idling good. there are no boost leaks and it doesnt throw any codes. revs clean when sitting in neutral. every once in a while it stutters and breaks up kinda like a misfire but goes back to idling fine. i just changed all the wires and plugs so i know its not those.

when i go to drive the car and i let out the clutch in 1st gear and start moving it starts to break up and cut out. it keeps cutting out and getting power and cutting out again. once i get the car above 3 grand it seems to run fine and smooth. but as soon i shift gears and the rpms drop under and 3 and i go to accelerate in the next gear it starts to break up and cut out until i get up higher in the rpms.

ive checked through everything that i can think of and dont know where to go from here.

check your vacuums and make sure you have no leaks mine was actin kinda funny like that and it turned out I had to get 1 new vacuum line and 1 new vacuum cap

I would also try the maf.

I would also check your coil pack.

You'll have to go through and test all the systems of the car that deal with air, fuel, and spark. Notable things to check, coil, TPS, MAF, O2 sensor, fuel filter, and, of course, vac/boost leaks.

Diagnosing a problem like this is tough because it could be any number of things.

like i said before i have already tested and checked for boost leaks. so it is all good to go in that regard.

i did throw a tps code once while it was happening according the palm logger but it only came up the one time. i have another coil and tb im going to throw in there and check.

if its neither of those im gonna try a different maf setup and see if that fixes it.

I have a similar problem.... it will only have problems until it gets to 3k rpms. after that it will work with no issues. I put new spark plugs and wires and it eliminated the problem for a few days last night it happened again. Today I will do this again to see if it works again

yea i just put new plugs and wires in mine so i know thats not the issue.


the only other thing i can think of if its not what i listed above is the harness is screwed up somewhere from when it was running ems.

ill let you guys know after i try out those few things to see if thats it

Mine did that it was loading up with fuel the I hit 3k and it'd take off I had a broken wire to the maff

finally figured it out last night! i was running a 1g maf in the mean time til i get my jackal setup and i figured out that was the problem. something was screwed up with the maf. i put together a 2g maf and boom problem fixed.
