I've got a FWD, and looking at being able to launch better I was gonna lower the front about .5" and try to put as stiff as possible shocks on the rear to get a better weight distro. Anyone ever go this route and what did they do?
 
i use eibach sportlines and agx adjustable shocks, total cost was probabyl around $600 for the set and i have cut 2.2 60's on average on my falken azenis tires and no lsd. car also has a good angle to it the way it sits.
 
struts, but why does it matter? the spring is contained by the shock's body so its a strut.

Ok... The problem with dropping the car is that KYB are a PIA about their warrenty. So what I did is I went with the H&R springs & KYB AGX set to 2 and 5 respectivly, & bought new KYB bump stops. I did not cut the bumps & this method drops 1 inch all the way around and KYB should honor their lifetime warrenty since they made the stops, I hope... Now the rear does not dive at all in acceleration; cornering feels a little tighter but it would be much better with a rear ST bar (installing thanksgiving). Also installing polyurethane bushings tightened things up a little for me.

KYB AGX 1G Front $135 each
KYB AGX 1G Rear $89 each
H&R springs $250
Front bushing kit $37
rear bushing kit $23
front sway kit $11

Total cost $769

cost with sway bar $939, damn this car is a money pit! :(
but.. it is fun to drive :thumb:
 
wait you put a front sway bar onto your car? or was that a strut tower bar?
 
good, i was just a little confused there for a minute. i have the st rear sway bar myself and am hoping to install it within the month, but i've heard very good things about it. the adjustability can take it from neutral to oh $hit oversteer by moving the linkage.
