Alfred,
ok just bought a Walbro190 FP , magnacore 8.5 wires,3" downpipe that i needed, and that goes with the rest of my mods in my profile , im scared to go higher then 16psi boost(LOL) what's the top boost my stock motor can handle with my mods, you think it would be ok to run higher boost (like 20psi daily or more..).What's better? ,to install a metal HG and arp studs on my 2g motor ,or is it better to do the same thing on a 1g engine .

Sorry for my english im mosly french .....thanks for the help :D :talon:

Actually, the bottom end can handle 400 hp intermittint quite comfortably. This is if you do your homework and don't run lean and such. If it is properly tuned you will be quite happy. I very seldom see a bottom end go. Mostly timing belts, head gaskets and such. If you plan on high horsepower, get a Cometic head gasket and ARP head studs. We have on this site several things you can do to improve horse power.

If you plan high horsepower, from general concensus I would use a 6 bolt engine as it's much less prone to "crank walk" than the 7 bolt engine.

Remember, you can destroy any engine if you don't tune it right.

You probably will need larger injectors and some sort of fuel control.

Get your base mods right and then gradually move it up to 20 psi. Watch your exhaust temperature. This is a first sign that something may be wrong.

Good Luck

i have 550's and the HKS VPC to control fuel and GCC for ,idle, response, gain its been tuned pretty good now it run great with 16psi .You think i need 650's to go higher boost ,or ?

no you don't need bigger than 550's for 20 psi of boost. but if you're on the stock t25, you won't be making any more power past 17 psi.

just to answer your original question, on a DECENT tune, i ran 21psi on both my e316G and my 50 trim on a stock headgasket. the 16G was ran on stock headbolts, and now the 50trim is stock HG + ARP studs.

i run with the evoIII i still have my FP to install tomorrow,i guess the stock FP not rewired ,won stand for 20psi with the 550's ,,,hummmmm right ? But when ill have the fuel pump install you think that i will be able to run at least 20psi with stock motor daily, with my mods now ,,,,i wont to be sure before i run higher boost ,but ill guest ill will be a good difference of HP at 20+psi :)
