There is a sensor under the intake manifold on the driver side, above the knock sensor, maybe it's a MAP sensor, except there's no mention of it in the Haynes manual. I know the air filter has the barometric pressure sensor to measure altitude, Intake Air Temperature sensor, and MAF sensor, so is this thing a MAP sensor and will I be able to datalog it when my logger comes in next week? -Tom

^^^Sorry about that, I confused them. It throws me off, because when I got the cel for it on datalogger, it comes up MAP sensor, instead of MDP sensor.

OMG This got blown out of proportion

OP- Unless your car was converted to run on speed density you DO NOT have a MAP sensor and the item you are probably mistaking it for is the Power Transistor Unit as described previously.

I'll try to get a picture of it tomorrow, it only has two wires. I can see the power transistor unit, it is mounted on the block behind the timing belt cover. Maybe I can put the camera behind the manifold to shoot the pic.

MAP - MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE
MDP - MANIFOLD DIFFERENTIAL PRESSURE

Does MDP log boost? I Dont think so

"I'm assuming the MDP sensor on these cars is the same as the DPFE sensor, or Delta Pressure Feedback EGR sensor used on Fords. Basicly it's there to make sure that the EGR is behaving properly in relation to engine vacuum.

In other words, it's to monitor EGR performance, so the ECU knows the EGR is opening and closing at the proper times, ie, assuring EGR is closed at idle, etc." - Nitrous pete of talk forums
