I have a 91 :dsm: GSX Turbo that when I try to put it in reverse, most of the time i have to fight with it... Half the time the back up lights will come on but it will bogg out when I try to go... other times it will try to go forward... and sometimes it just does nothing! Its doesnt grind at the cluch in any gear, and the only hard shifting is when I am going into reverse and can feel the shifter working against itself??? ?? Im ripping my hair out, oh and btw sometimes it shifts perfectly normal.... All other gears are fine! If anyone could help i would surly apreciate it:thumb:

look at your shifting end links by the tranny. Make sure that both bolts holding the cables in place are there and are tight. I had a similiar problem one time.. Kept grinding and sometimes couldnt get it in reverse. I would think it was in reverse but instead in 4th and the car would go forward. First 2nd and third weren't affected to much. Check it out and see if that the case.

Thanks, I'll check it out tomorrow... This is my first real "import" that I can drive. Last year, my buddy sold me a 94 with a half done JDM swap and it was a nightmare so I gave it back... Now I have this 91GSX and can't believe how quick these things are... I should have started driving DSM's a long time ago... God I love these cars!:thumb:

Try checking the fluid or even changing it. I had full fluid but flushed it and swapped in another and it fixed this problem.
