Hi, I have a 1g that is lowered quite a bit on koni inserts on the front and koni rears with an old DSS setup on hypercoil spings.

The front suspension is getting quite tired and my one side keeps bottoming out even after removing the bump stops. There is maybe just over 2.5 inches of travel before the shock touches the top hat.

My questions are:
-If I buy a new set of koni inserts assuming I'm bottoming out because of the tired shocks, will letting the shock travel near the end of its length just kill the new shocks (I know this is a no no for OEM stuff). Or are they designed to be run like this?

-Is there another option I could look at for my fronts that would have a shortened shock body? My budget it nearing maxed for this year and I would like to ONLY put money into the front setup, as the rears are working solidly.

Thanks,

I believe Koni's have a lifetime warranty, so if you're the original purchaser you may not have to buy new ones. They can also be rebuilt and modified/shortened. The RRE page is down, but you can also cut the small threaded part at the bottom off and weld the insert to the housing.
