Hey guys i just got a full assembled head minus the cam gears. When i go to throw the head on the block and bolt the cam gears on do i leave the caps on the cam gears loose to rotate the cams and align the timing marks? how do i know where TDC is when put on the timing belt? also do i align the gears then put the belt on? Thanks guys!

What i would do is line up the timing marks on the crank real quick. Then put the head on without the cams in it. Once you have the head bolted on put the cams, in a position close to where they should be. Then bolt them down and you will only have to adjust the cams a little bit to get them perfect.

Just bolt on the cams with the Dial pins facing up, Thats TDC
Then you can bolt on the cam gears.
All the valves should be closed at this point and shouldnt harm any pistons
