I just got in my tripple gage pod for my 1g. I have 4 gages and was wondering wear to mount or put the 4th one, and what you 1g guys were using to put a single gage in and location. I want to keep my vents clear for heat. Pics from your 1gs would be nice. Thanks.

If its a gage you don't need to look at all the time the ash tray makes a great location. I have my voltmeter there.

Or you can cut out the stock cig lighter and put the gauge there. Just depends on the gauge you want to be odd man out. Keep things that need to be monitored in your sight line, and keep something that doesnt need constant attention out of your sight line.

LOL Voltmeter is the odd man here. How did you set that up? and how much does the gages affect the flow of your heat?

I bought the plate on ebay a while back. You could easily make one though. Heat still flows out of the center vent just fine, the only thing is that you can't adjust or point it, it just comes out straight which works fine for me.

1 din or 2 din factory radio?
(slim or fat radio)

In the case of slim 1 DIN radio...
all you need is a piece of lexan from home depot or lowes... 1/8" thick will do. 1/4 max if you can find it. I used 1/8th and im happy. you caould also use wood i suppose, I prefer plastic. then make a template from paper/cardboard. cut and trim bit by bit try to keep it snug but not forced. get a 2" drill bit (2" hole saw i think they are called) and just use a razor blade to widen it for the slightly bigger gauge going in, again snug but not forced is the idea. Then I used 2 scrap peices of thin metal, drilled holes in them, and used the factory holes in the radio trim peice where you would bolt a radio "pocket" in to screw my retainers in place. holds very solid. handles plenty of road bumps and relentless subwoofer 1000W RMS bass drops just fine. even handles dumb passenger poking at the pretty lights.

That was a lazy how-to. just ask and I will clarify

In the case of a fat 2 DIN radio... I think 2 din basic radio is a waste of space. but if it has to stay... Nevermind.

why do you need 4 gauges??? wb and boost...be done with it

Sir, you forgot a very important one, oil pressure. You can use the stock one but it provides no quanitiative info.

I prefer, water temp, boost, wideband, oil pressure. No you dont need water temp and oil pressure, but it sure helps out.

The more accurate gauges you can get, the better. I have boost, water temp, trans temp, oil psi, volt, fuel pressure, and soon to add in WB. I have yet to add any of them other than boost yet, but I have already made the plate to stick 3 above my single DIN, 2 in the vent pod, and the last will go where the OEM cig lighter goes. Im going to cut out that opening to install a gauge there. I have a few switches that will be going with my 3 gauges in the open DIN slot. I will try and post up some pix of the setup im running once they are all installed to showcase. Im actually in the process of putting it all together in the next week or 2.

Oil Press, and Oil Temp are needful too i think.. I'll be buy these stuffs may next time.. the oilpress sender i'll add on the head.. if something happened.. the oil press will drop in the head first..

boost and AFR is on my A pillar.. the next 2 gauge's will goin on the center vent..

You can always modify the gauge cluster in the dash to hold aftermarket gauges if your going to be running more than the standard wbo2 + boost + whatever else you want on a triple pillar.

Oh, really? :D

you can look the gauges, and the road at same time? :D

Depending on the gauge you rarely ever look at it. Fuel pressure is just a double check to make sure both my pumps are working, nothing more. If the OP put a non-critical gauge such as oil pressure or water temp down there it wouldnt be a problem (most people tee the oil pressure so the stock gauge works as well). Even boost wouldnt be a problem, most people set boost and forget about it. The only gauges I ever keep an eye on are my wideband and pyro.

you could triple vent pod. I always kinda liked the spaceship-y look
