Resolved 1g EPROM ECU difference

Whats the difference with gold cover 1g eprom ecu's compared to the silver cover eprom ecu's? My buddy just picked up a silver cover eprom ecu MD166260 and when we compared it to my 91 eprom ecu the board on his ecu is much greener and his cover was silver instead of the normal gold,is there any difference?

If they are both eprom then there is no difference that you will care about.

The silver cover ones were factory service replacements.
Functionally they are the same.
