Howdy folks.

1990 Eagle TSi AWD.

Recently put things back together after changing my starter, so there's always the chance I screwed something up; wouldn't be surprised at all.

That being said, car will now not start. The starter turns (boo ya!), fuel pump starts (verified flow, etc), but no spark. Pulled plug and wire, watched for spark, nothing.

When you turn the key to the "on" position (or whatever the position is before it starts trying to actually start), I hear a very odd sound. I'd best describe it as "sparking", and from where it's coming from (on top of the intake manifold, right over the coil pack) the "sparking" term makes more sense, at least to me.

I recorded said sound and uploaded it here: http://www.wedontlikeu.com/car/eagle/spark.mp3

It's pretty quiet, so you might need to turn speakers up pretty loud to hear it clearly. I honestly can't tell you if it makes this sound during start up, as the motor is loud enough to drown it out, but I'd only assume it does.

Thoughts? Ideas?

Thanks!

Check all connection's to your coilpack Power Transistor,etc... Also make sure your grounds are tight, including the one by the Throttlebody.
Good Luck

So the standard question is, does your Check Engine Light turn on for 5 seconds and then go out when you turn the ignition on? Does the factory boost gauge go to zero and stay there until you begin cranking?

If they don't then the ECU isn't running and the engine is not going to start.

I personally have never seen so many "NO START" threads on any one forum (and Im a member of all the major Tuner related sites) in the past 10 years!! Dead ECU's, Bad starter's, Broken Timing belts.... All 3 the main cause of failure in these contraption's... Perhaps that's why I just fix em now and dont drive one ! LOL
Good Luck either way OP.
