im building a 4g64 with a 1g head. I cleaned the head and im coming up with a head height of 5.190 inches and I checked the head surface and it is warped .005in. will this be to thin? Im going to have a machine shop verify my measurements were correct and give me a exact number what it would be after resurfacing. The car will have gsc s2 cams down the road and I don't want to run into valve and pistons clearance issues. thank you!

I removed .011 from my head and it threw my cams off by 3.5 degrees for reference. Valve clearance would just be stock valve clearance with s2's -.015 +-lift at x degrees off from degreed accurately.

Should also add that since it's already had .01 knocked off there's a good chance your valve height isn't factory anymore since its been worked over before. Even a hard lapping can throw the valve height off. You'll need to further investigate that also.

My bad, also forgot to include I've got no 4g64 block experience so I probably shouldn't have even commented on the first place.

Hmm I'd compare the thickness of what's removed with the thickness of what head gasket you're going to run. When I had my head resurfaced they took off hardly any material at all (basically just to smooth it out) so I wasnt worried about the valve height. Plus I run a MLS head gasket that's slightly thicker than what the OEM would be, so I wasnt too worried. You could bust out the dial gauge and double check it if your head has quite a bit taken off of it.
