so the outter boot on my fron passenger side axle blew up yesterday spewing grease all over my white rims (talk about a PITA) and now its making a creaking sound when turning and hitting the smallest pot holes it even creecks when you push down on the top of the fender. its not a clicking sound but i highly doubt its the struts. seems to me its not a coinsidence that the boot blew off and now its creeking. please help me out guys. thanks!:thumb:

I'd bet the sound is due to the unlubricated CV joint. Replace the axle with an autozome/pepboys unit and call it a day.

thanks! im gonna do that tomorrow after class but i considered the sound being the lower ball joint since that is apparently a common problem so i sprayed some penetrating lube in there and that quieted the noise about half. i guess it was just a coinsidence that both problems came about on the same short trip to home depot

its hard to replace parts when i dont have money for new ones. how is a 16 year old like me supposed to get a job when older people with dozens of references and lots ofexperience cant even get a job

first off man, go buy a 1g parts car... makes life easier and parts alot cheaper than you can buy them for at a parts store.......as for the creaking going on check to make sure that your lower ball joint bolt is tightened. I had the same problems with my car went and checked and I'm glad I did, but what people are saying about poorly lubricated cv joint is also another posibility, take a look and see what you can

Possibly endlink bushing that is attached to the lca might be squeeking. I also agree with everyone else saying you should replace the axle. If it does break, you will be stranded. Being an open diff the car wont move once it does break. Good luck:thumb:

well i narrowed it down to the lower ball joint, one i get some money i will replace that and the axle, but for now it will sit in my driveway
