1g cams

Here's a slightly better idea; post pics of your cams and let us decide for you. Cams look like cams, some cleaner than others. Not a whole lot as far as very easily spot indicators.

Is it just me or does the cam cap on the left in the first, second, and third picture looked cracked?:(

That does look cracked thanks for pointing that ot..I'm gonna have a set of new to me caps here when my buddy gets the head of my talon..

Thanks for helping me out guys..:)

Not only change your oil more often upgrade the oil, the varnish (yellowing) incidates a lower grade of oil and extended mileage on the oil.

I chanhe it less than every 2000 miles..But I just did roll over 100k..But If I have money I buy good oil, If I don't have money I use whatever my mom buys..I'm puting in synthetic for the summer..And i just put in a botttle of seafoam...

You'll need to get a line hone if replacing the cap. Each cap for every head is specific to that head and location.

Shell Rotella can be had for $15 and is amazing oil to use, just don't run a cat.

Only swap that broken cap. Cam caps are not interchangeable between heads

The same cap off a different 1g head are not interchangable..Even if it's the same one? What would happen if I tried to swap it anyway?

I guess you learn sumthin new everyday about dsm's that you didn't know before.:(

Shell rotella you say liquid, I have a 5 quart thing of castrol synthetic sitting in the garage..I'm just waiting to figure out if im going to swap my turbo out in the next few days, before I canger the oil..Plus I just added some seafoam so I need to get that ran through for a while 1st..And one more thing liquid, I have a cat delete, SO I'm good to go..

If you tried swapping the cap, it has a chance to be out of round with the the other end and will cause damage or just bind up by hand movement. It's the same concept with the main caps and rod caps, that are machined for that location/part.

I use the Rotella 15-40 conventional oil and so do many others on the forum. It has high wear resistant properties and detergent to clean the motor.
