1G 1G Bad ECU?

i just put a built motor in my talon but when i initailly bought the car the motor was bad. the previous owner claimed he put a newer ecu in because the old one was clicking all the time. the car will have a hard time starting but once it does and you try to drive the car the damn thing almost refuses to go anywhere, it has no power and its bearly limping trying to move forward. Could this be a bad ecu? almost everything around the engine is new and i just installed a new 255 pump...im new to the dsm and i just want to get this thing running, i've wasted too much money.

What are the usual signs of a bad ecu?

it would help if you told us what kind of car you had. If the ecu board has leaky capacitors that could be a sign of a bad ECU. If your engine is bad and is causing the knock sensor to go off this could also be the cause of your problems. The only sure way to find out what is going on is to buy a datalogger.

1991 talon Tsi awd. i was told to check my knock sensor and it was hooked up also. im leaning toward a bad ecu but im tired of tinkering with the car, im just going to take it to a shop this week and let them get it running.
