1g AWD MAF on 2g GST?

Well, just to make a long story short, my friend has brought me his 97 GST which had his pressure plate explode, blowing away half his bellhousing. I replaced it, blah blah. Now, some dude that had this guys GST at his house when it broke, claims he mysteriously threw away the guys MAF. Now, I've got a spare one from my GSX laying around, and I'm wondering if I can hook it up to the GST without much problem.

Any comments?

Short answer, no.

Long answer you'd have to re-wire the 1g mas to the 2g car and then use an afc alter the readings of that mas so that the ecu would see it as normal. Besides, the 1g mas is a horrid device to use. It's one helluva restriction in the intake.
