Ok guys I am in the process of changing the rod bearing on by 90 talon turbo, ok so I ordered some rod bearing and the happen to be bigger then the rod bearing that were currently on the rods, how can I tell if I have 1g or 2g rods in there, the person before could of swapped out the motor but I dont know. The rod bearings I bought were said to be for 89-92 turbo dsm but dont fit mine.. Is there a certainw ay to tell what rods I have like by part number?

Part numbers aren't stamped on the rods, so those won't help. For the record, rods are 6-bolt/7-bolt specific, not 1G and 2G. 7-bolt rods are skinnier/thinner than 6-bolt rods. Another dead giveaway is the oil jet built into the rod for piston wall lubrication being flush on the 6-bolt rod and jutting out on the 7-bolt.

2Ok guys im very frustrated now. There rod bearings i got do go to my year go but do not fit on my rods! Why is that. And the rods look exactly like 1g rods not 2g rods. And supposily the part store says 2g rods have same soze rpd bearings that true?

Ok the bearings do fit this is my first time replacing rods\ bearings and I did not know the rod bearings should kinda snap in, because the old ones that got taken out were very lose and slid right off the rod.
