2g Connecting Rod Question

To make a long story a short one...i needed a connecting rod for my 2g 7 bolt engine and a friend had one from his 1g 7 bolt engine i would like to know if they would fit on my engine.. the only thing i notice is that the rod he gave me had the letter 6GF and mine have G6U ..would it still work??? thanks

IT will work just fine.

The rods should fit no problem. The only thing you need to change is the pistons, because the compression ratio is different. 1g 7 bolts are 7.8-1 and 2g 7 bolts are 8.5-1 unless your swapping all 4.
