Ok I've searched for awhile now and just can't find an EXACT solution. I have a 94 Eclipse, 7bolt 5speed, N/T. I'm dropping it in my 95 GST (5speed as well) The issue is the Thermostat housing. I pulled it out of the 95GST and went to see how it would bolt up to the 1g block, It didn't. So do I leave the 1g housing on the block and just hook up the lines and sensors from the 2g housing to the 1g housing? Will it be fine that way? Thanks for the help guys! Have a great one.

I have to ask why your putting a n/t engine in to a turbo car? Also didn't the '94 eclipses come with the 6 bolt? You should confirm that its a 7 bolt, there are some other differences in the motors which will need to be addressed before just swapping it in.

Yes leave the 1g water pipe and T-stat housing. Then you will need to buy a Lower radiator hose for a 1990-94 eclipse 2.0 liter 4g63 turbo or Non turbo.
Swap over the sensors from your 2g. The 1g Has an extra sensor, you can just leave in the housing or get a plug to fill the hole.

The N/A 7-bolts do not have oil squirters to help cool under the exhaust side of the pistons.
OEM cast pistons may not like much boost for very long...

Hey thanks for all the replys. I do have one more question.

When I go to bolt this up I HAVE to use the 2g mount right? The Driver side / Timing Side mount. I can't find a 100% answer on that either. Trust me when I say I search, and 90% of the time I find the answer, but I grow tired of conflicting answers and then half of the threads go from doing a timing belt on a 7bolt to some guy going "holy ****, why not a 6bolt now! and then that forbidden crankwalk word........anyways any insight on the motor mount would be great. This is a 7bolt. Came out of a 94 Eclipse Auto, there are 7bolts on the crankshaft Lusion:thumb:

To answer Lusion and frankenstein, I bought this car a month ago. Just needed a motor, the guy's son over-boosted the 6bolt swapped (32psi) is what was logged LOL! Anyways, as "punishment" he sold the car with no motor. Everything else is in there and in great shape. Dad took much better care of it haha. Anyways, I picked it up for 600bucks, and I have a t3t4 im just gonna run 5-6psi until I complete my n/a 6bolt out of my 1g. 1g rods and 2g pistons you all have seen the 350 DD builds :p. Have a great one all!
