So this is my situation i have a 91galant vr4 but it got a bad tranny. Now i found a 96 eclipse gst for really cheap due to a bad rod. Now i want to kno can i use the block and head from the galant? Im concerned about the obd1 and obd2. Any info would help thanks

The biggest difference in the years is that the OBDII 4g63 has a Sensor located on the crankshaft (crank position sensor), and the OBDI does not have this sensor, people have done this swap but it has much needed modification.

I'd get the tranny fixed before doing the motor-might be cheaper and you'd have a new tranny. Doing the motor might have hidden issues that might bite you hard and straight in the soft area down the road.

VR4's are hard to find in running condition,.
