This is just a brushed finish I'm going to look into doing a black anodized finish as well.

This screws directly on to any non power 2g antenna base.

also I'm going to hit up my 1g buddies and see if it will fit a 1g

I havent tested reception yet. I'm leaving town in the morning so next week ill see if reception is affected.

And regards the the rules, I didn't say I was selling them did I? just sharing my newest mod to my car. and i was gonna make some for my buddies with 1g's. Does that pass the rules? let me know :)

also I think I'm gonna make one thats a bit thinner I think this one is a little to thick.

I like it and def want to get one :0 +1 to how's the reception. LOL yeah i think a thinner one would be more suitable.

The last line is a the one I'm referring to. It can easily be interpreted that way.

I don't like it, looks way to thick IMHO. Kinda like a dogs tail. Nice work though.

Yeah I agree with you, I'm going to make another one. I'm gonna keep the same design but just thinner.

Also I actually put a steel stud in the bottom instead of just making it part of the antenna I figure it way stronger that way

So I couldent wait till next week to know if the antenna was gonna actually function. So I went out this morning and I pick up all my local radio stations that I did before, just as clear too!

Yes...

Thinner will def be sexier...although it wont work as good as a sex toy :)

Am I the only one that thinks it looks like a sex toy?

Lol I actually thought this as soon as it was finished LOL. But atleast with one of these your DSM can get in on the action LOL. But yeah I'm gonna make another one that's thinner and go from there

Thats what she said! ROFL

Looks great man. I just took my tall stocker and cut it down to about 8" drilled a hole in the ball on the end to make it fit the "thicker base":D and glued it back on the tip. Finished it off with plasticoat but yours looks alot nicer.

Thanks for all the comments guys, ill take a couple more pics from farther and different angles when I get back home

Looks good, I like the brushed alum look. It would stick out too much on my 97 TSI. I would need one in black. I wouldn't think it would, but do you think painting it would change the reception. I have a stock 97 infinity deck and there is something wrong with it anyway. I'll be listening to the radio and it goes to static randomly. Pisses me off. No stations come in at that point. But I'd be willing to get one based on looks. Black anodized would be tits!

Im going to look into anoidizing. I tested the reception on my friends car, and reception was affected on some stations. I added more pics to the 1st post as well.

Once I switch from my stock stereo to an after market head unit, I'll be using XM and HD radio more anyway. So it'll be good for looks anyway. I have some pewter blue pearl in a rattle can. I would try color matching it, see how it goes.
