My buddy just put a double din touch in his 2g, and I guess they don't make a double din install kit, at least he couldn't find one.

That's probably why Crutchfield said one wouldn't fit my car. Does it look like ass without one though? I've seen many DSMs with Double Din units.

Also if you had access to paint and had the know how. You could offer these color code matched as well as anodized. Throw some Chrome ones on eBay and you'll be a chamillionaire.

There really isn't much profit that can be be made if myself, or anyone for that fact, were to offer to sell these in a brushed finish let alone offer color matched and I know I could easily polish this one and make it shiny.

i have actually been researching that this morning and learned a few things.
The middle of the FM broadcast band is ~98MHz
and 1/4 wavelength is ~28.5 inches, which would be the optimal antenna length apparently.

so here is my solution

I like the original version, just a little thinner, but the exact shape. So just thin the original out and shrink the base down to fit on the antenna base and we have it.

And maybe I'll take 2 of the original sex toys for my GF.

This straight one looks more like something someone spun up in their garage. The original one has more character. The original one I can't buy anywhere. This one^^^ Torque Solutions sells one almost identical.

yeah but they don't sell em for DSM's that's a good price though they must have made a lot at once to get them made so cheap.

The straight one you can tell, no shape or taper, just a straight rod and an abrupt edge at the base. It just looks "homemade" looking at it on the car and someone talking about it, it looks like something someone made themselves. Unlike the first one that looks more "manufactured" has shape and taper and looks more complex to reproduce. Changing the straight one to being milled from top to bottom, with a gradual flare at the base like a wine glass. Then about 1/16- 1/32" from the bottom, end the taper and you'd have that base.

That is the little base its 5/8 the 1st one had almoast a 1" base

They dont, the power antenna has a mast with a hollow base for the antenna to run through the center. These screw directly to the base of the antenna. Im sure if you look around though, you can find someone selling what you need for next to nothing.
