1995 Eagle Talon TSI questions

I am looking at a 1995 eagle talon tsi awd that has not been running for 4 years but has been stored out of the sun in a shed. The car looks very clean aside from a small ding on the drivers side fender and he said the pulleys squeel so i figured id change those al with the timing belt. The man I am purchasing the car from also told me that he was having small issues with the car dying and he said it was probably a fuel filter or a fuel oump. I trust the man because he is a mechanic I take all of my vehicles to and always does me right he is also friends with my father. Its all black with a sunroof 5 speed manual transmission gray leather seats with some cracking on the seats besides that the car looks clean inside. The questions I have are since the car is a 1995 model can the ecu be used with dsm link to be as good as if it were a 1998 ecu or will i have to swap the harness and the ecu? Are there any problems with the 1995 model specific to the year? Aside from that thank you for your time.

Dsm link will work but must look at the ecu bottom right corner by the serial numbers will be a e that shows its an eprom ecu also open it it up to see if its been socket or not. If not has to be socket. Belts squel inspect and replace all the ones that need replacement. My belt squeled when I turner on the car then stop was car warmed up. Ended snapping was my alternater belt. Make sure none are loose or slipping.

If i find that the ecu is not eprom what can I do to convert it? From what I understand you must change the wiring harness and get a newer ecu correct? Also this car is 100% unmolested stock from what I see so i doubt the ecu has been socketed. It even has the original wheels.

Its a 95 no wiring harness has to be swapped. From what I know if its not socket you can send the ecu over to ecmlink and have it socked. If you get link they give you a discount when you socket the ecu. Look under hood at your valve cover to the left rear of it if theres a big silver looking cam sensor then your spark plugs orders has to switched around. Also pic to help you see what you need to look at to know what you got and might have to change or not.
