1994 eclipse shift cable

hey guys my shift cable in my 1997 eclipse gs snapped 420a motor. i was wonder if a shift cable from a 1994 eclipse would possibly work? i know the tranny is on the other side. this is my only hope right now because now one has anything around here! would this work?

Are there any salvage yards around you? If so there may be some more common applications that might fit if you wanted to look. Late 90's neon, stratus (Breeze, cirrus), avenger are all 420a type engines with the same basic tranny/engine bay set up. To answer your question: no, I don't think that the 94 eclipse cable will work.

If you have them why not try? should it matter if the trans is on the right or left cable still comeing from the center or at worst it would be longer not to metion 1g cable's were adjustable but the end mount the same I think.

damn thanks for the reply. i told them anywhere from 95-99 eclipse will work. avenger. neon i dont think will work but then again i m not sure. i am assuming they have listings of compatible cars but then again who knows. everyone i call so far has nothing!

I have 2 2g's a 420a and a 4g63 there cable's come from the same spot in the firewall. They got to be close even if one is a 1g and the other 2g. How many different cables would they make

well on this car 94 the tranny was on the left side and the cable was not directly in the center. i would hate to buy this thing and it dont work out! i was thinking the same thing but i am not 100% sure

eBay has the cable and shifter together but i am not going to pay 100 bucks just to have the cable that's retarded

Oh I thought it was your car as well. I have a set on ebay right now attached to a front clip but I can't seperate them unless it does not sell. but that's in 5 day's other wise I would help you out.
