When I got the car last August, the last owner blew the trans and must have found a good deal on a 6 bolt and trans and just put that in. The engine and trans were just mounted and everything else was in boxes. Its been over 10 years since I've had one of these cars but it looked like most of the stuff was there to get it back together (minus the rear shocks and exhaust) and the price was right so it was a go.

I started by stripping the interior and cleaning everything real well. The front seats are bad but the backs are great. I hope to reupholster the fronts at some point. The interior is pretty clean. Got the engine back together and I was just missing the j-pipe from the turbo, lower inter cooler hose, and coolant res. Still didn't have the inter cooler hose but I wanted to see if the engine would fire, and it seems like it wants to run just fine.

The car has basically been sitting for the winter. Stuff came up and I've been too busy but I'm ready to get started on it again. Looking to get some exhaust on it and rear suspension. Still need a coolant overflow (but I can make dew) and a lower inter cooler pipe. I plan on running the car stock for a little while. I would like to upgrade to a big 16g.

So, I wanted to clean up the roof and get a little paint on it quick. I've always been curious about the roller paint job. Its a little bit more work and takes some patience. I've built a booth and sprayed a car years ago, I just don't have the setup for that anymore. I've seen very good, long-lasting results from the roller job done right. Its a project car, and its in the garage all the time.So I'm not too worried this paint should last.

After starting on the roof I quickly got carried away and started painting the rest of the car. I've shaved a couple panels as well. I want to do a quick fix on the hood and the fenders just so I have them on the car for now. Depending on how they turn out they might stay, otherwise I'll try and find a new hood and fenders as some point, but I'm trying to make it to the cookout in August.

I got new KGB AGX shocks and Megan lowering springs. Had to build them from scratch. After finally finding all the parts and getting everything order, the suspension is all ready to go. I've heard a couple people say after installing lowering springs there is no tension on the spring when the strut is fully extended. Sounds like it should be fine and that some people will slip some rubber hose over the ends of the spring to make up some of the difference.

I have more done, just need to get some pics. I'll try and get them on tonight but we all know how that goes.
