1992 spline

I am looking at buying a used tranny for my 1992 Laser Rs AWD and was wondering what what spline it is, without taking anyting apart???

that is a switch over year. I believe that if you have a 4 bolt rear, that means you have a 23 spline trans, assuming it is stock. The only true way to tell is to take your transfer case off and count the splines on the output shaft of the transmission...

I believe the output shaft spline difference is between '90s and 91+. CAPS shows the same output shaft part number MD741190 starting production in 9007.1 through 9405.1.
