1991 talon TSI, what color is it? (pics)

hey ya'll,

I am going to pick up this car in a few days, I told the guy I'd buy it thinking it is black. Well I'm kinda second guessing myself and think it might be burgundy. I cannot really tell that great because the pics are kinda crappy

did they even make a burgundy color in the 1991 year talons?

I know it's kinda dumb to ask for help on something so simple but I really cannot tell what color it is from the pics. I would call the owner but he said he'd be out of town for a few days and I'd rather not disturb him until he gets back.

just wanting to know if ya'll can tell the color, and also. did they even make a burgundy (or color close to it) on the 1991 talons?

That looks to be the stock (94+) Wildberry pearl/maroon (dark purple) color. It's actually a real nice color IMO. But can't tell 100% from the pics, so it could also be the 91 Black cherry, 92+ plum pearl or dark mauve pearl.

If it is in fact the Wildberry peal from certain angles even standing a foot from it, it will look more blackish than purple. Take a look at it in person at least if it isn't to far away.

Since it is a 91 I wouldnt think it would be that color if it only comes on 94+ right?

unless they got the car repainted???

is there any color that is simillar to the color your talking about that was on the 91's?

I would guess it's been repainted by the looks of the color but the pictures make it really hard to tell. In 91 there was a Black Cherry color that's really similar but it's an even darker purple then what the pics look to show. That could possibley just be from fading IDK..

I'll probably buy it nomatter what anyway, Im getting a killer deal on it.....I'd REALLY rather it not be any kind of color that even looks near purple though

It's really not that bad of a purple, it's really dark especially the Black cherry. In low light and from certain angles you will 'see' black. You'll get alot of people telling you it's pretty too.

From the pics it almost looks like the color that Shep has his car painted. Black cherry is it?

Yeah sheps car is Black cherry. It's hard to tell with the pics posted here but that's the only purple color the 91 came with. Here is a clearer picture of a black cherry Talon.

My '90 Talon WAS this color. Inside the door panels and inside the engine bay. My car got dinged and a really good body shop got the color from his sources and came up with the exact code. Sadly as soon as he opened the can, he figured out why my color was off. The whole outside had been repainted and not matched to the original paint code. He had to spend a whole day making samples to try and match. He did a great job and no one can spot the blend. Point is a good body shop can get Black Cherry and put it on for you.

You can see in my pic' the old Black cherry on the strut towers and the new color of paint.
