Alright, first question, where the whole oil pump assembly bolts onto the block, does there need to be silicone on the gasket? It sort of looks like there was some on before but it is hard to tell.

Second question, on my oil pan where there use to be a baffle around the pick up tube, it was hacked out so theres just the whole bottom on the pan. Is that ok? Or should I get a new oil pan?

Third question, the cam sensor wasn't taken off with the motor at TDC, so when installing it back onto the cams with them at TDC, how do I know the sensor is at TDC and not 180 degrees out?

Any tips would be great!!! Thanks for the help!

i put silicone on my rebuild, and its holding up fine.get a new pan, that baffle keeps oil at the pickup tube, where its supposed to be.and the cas has a little notch on the part that spins and a little notch on the cover, just line em up.

Well what if I already put it on with no silicone? any body done that yet? Also, what silicone did you use? just oil compatible RTV? I have a stock pile of RTV at my work. Also the cam gears have two notchs on each one. It was rebuilt once before and they each have a white paint mark on one of the notches. Are those marks the tru TDC marks or should i just time it with the valve come off and make sure its under compression with all the valves closed on cylinder 1?
