1990 Laser RS Turbo

1st off I'm the new guy. Not to DSM's just this forum. I've got a 91 TSI AWD, and now a newly acquired 90 Laser Turbo. The Laser runs great and spools up fine, but when it idles, it starts smoking. The smoke is blue, like it's burning oil or something.... When the turbo starting going in my TSI, the same thing happened. Is this going to be a simple fix, or am I going to be purchasing a new turbo soon. Or is that even my problem?? thanks for the help,

It is most likely the turbo seals. The 90 Laser Turbo, that I previously had, suddenly began to burn oil and smoke badly, after being allowed to idle for a period of time. In spite of this, plugs remainded perfectly clean. The other thing that it could be is valve seals.

if it only smokes at idle then its probally your valve guide seals.
