JUst got me a 1990 laser rs turbo

just baught me a laser rs turbo today .. for 100 bucks .. the guy claimed it had a blown out headgasket .... just wonderin what all im getitn myself into with the car and the headgasket .. the car has 145k on it and was owned by and older dude

Dude, Man you paid 100bucks for it, does it matter?! You could part that car out and make a pretty good profit!
I never changed a headgasket before though I just wanted to let you know that i think you got a great deal, good luck with that

The only big things you need to do is take off the manifolds and then take off the head, check it for warpage, replace the gasket then put everything back on. If that's all that's wrong with it.

It's very time consuming but it's not that hard at all. The car doesn't even move at all???

I just got an awesome deal on my 1990 RS LASER turbo its awesome soooo freaking clean inside 170,000 and the guy thought it was blewn--- $25 dollar HEAD GASKET fixed it and my dad installed it... it ran on sunday when i bought it w/uber powerloss so we pushed it onto the trailer. I'm really happy with it now and I want to know what people think about DSM's I mean:

Are Laser's the underdog out of the Talon, Clipse... ???

welll it didnt come with a battery .. and i failed to check too see if it started i the guy said it ran i will get a battery in it and check it out but i couldnt pass it up for 100 bucks

now im new to these cars obviosly .. what all should i be lookin for tsb s recalls etc etc .. anything i should do while the head is off in particular?

Nice deal man! I would buy that in a heart beat! I picked up my Laser with 92k miles for $600. Only problems with it was that is failed emissions. He was selling it for $1000 and I talked him down $400 because of the fact that is failed emissions. A $60 catalytic converter fixed it
