Well a friend of mine is geting one.. and he is saying it will smoke my 90 TSI AWD Talon.. im pretty sure it will compeltely stock and it needed new rings and pistons..

but asumeing there both new how much do you think the talon would lose by.. cause the engine in the shelby is a 2.5L turbocharged engine..

of corse were gona clash heads once our cars are both finished... and maybe a few times in the process of building them up.. :thumb:

:talon:

I've had two pretty damn fast Chrysler Turbo cars. One was the IROC R/T Daytona mentioned above. It was very quick and had gearing that was a little better for the top end than our DSMs are.

The other I had was an 89 Lebaron GTC Turbo. I beleive it was a pace car for one of the races that year, and the engine was probably a precursor to the IROC R/T's. It had an intercooled 2.2 L Turbo Engine and it was very quick (don't know turbo size). I had smoked Shelby Z daytonas (which came stock with about 180 hp) in it, so I know it was quick.

2.0Turbo DSM vs. 2.5L turbo =DSM wins
2.0Turbo DSM vs. 2.2L turbo = Who's the better driver, and is the DSM FWD or AWD?

What are you talking about? If they both are equally skilled drivers, the irock r/t woud beat the 2.0 turbo stock, even with awd.

Also here is the weights, hp and torque of them all

94 DSM(used the laser):
1.8- 2,531, 92hp, 105 torque
2.0- 2,690, 135hp, 125 torque
2.0T- 2,756, 193hp, 203 torque
2.0TAWD- 3,073, (same as above)

93 Daytona:
2.5- 2,741, 100hp, 135 torue
2.5T(used the 1990)- 3,004, 150hp, 180 torque
3.0- 2,918, 141hp, 171 torque
2.2T(Iroc)- 3,017, 244hp, 217 torque

Heh those are the numbers. Very close call to judge anything by numbers, have to go out and actually race.

woah....calm down, all I said was here is my GUESS as to who would win. I mean come on you don't have to take this so god damned seriously.

hey, J/K John LOL:cool:

98TSIAWD you are wrong about the Iroc Daytona being the only fast 4 banger shelby. It's not a shelby edition. the base model had either the 2.5L turbo which was rather fast, and the Chrysler /Mitsu 3.0 V6(slightly modded to be faster than the base(ES) daytona) found in the Stealth/3000GT

I know the Daytona IROC R/T's are not shelby. But the DOHC 2.2 head was originally designed for shelby by Lotus. This head was found on the Chrysler TC by Masterati in 89.
They had planned on puttin the 224hp Turbo III engine in the 90 Shelby CSX, but dodge pissed shelby off and that was the end of that..

Heh, well think. the non-turbo is about as quick as a 1.8l dsm
