My question is will a 18x9 wheel with a +40 offset fit on a 2g gsx with rolled fenders? If not will a 18x8 with a +20 or +40 offset fit with rolled fenders. I'm looking to order a set of wheels soon so help would be appreciated. :)

Im running 18x8.5 with 2" lowering springs but im not sure of the offset on my wheels. They were on it when i got it. But im running the same size tires as your going to be and i have had no problem rubbing. And my fenders arent rolled either.

i understand the wider the better, but not in this case. with the car lower then usual, and the size wheel you want to put on it, you my have some clearence issues. the highest i would go is an 8" or 8.5" at most. the car may look good, but if you scrape something while someone around, it doesn 't look good anymore. also, the car won't look so good if you cause yourself problems steering etc.

I understand the fact that there may be clearance issues involved. if there are any I will do what I have to do to correct them properly. I really don't want to go 9" wide but the wheels I am wanting to get come in a 9" width so if They will fit then that is what I will be going with. What exactly are you talking about when you say scraping? Scrape what exactly?

They aren't going to tuck, even with rolled fenders. If you're rear rates are not 350# or higher, you can forget it, because your rear wheels will be rubbing the fenders, a lot. Why go with such a wide wheel if you are only going to stretch a 225 on there?

Repeat after me:
2g Wheels don't rub, tires do.
2g Wheels don't rub, tires do.
2g Wheels don't rub, tires do.

225/40/18 tires on +40mm offset will fit and tuck. Fender flange rolling may be required depending on you camber correction after lowering. The same tires on +20 offset will not tuck.

Wheels, Tires.... whatever. You know what I mean LOL. btw wheels could also rub.

Moved to the Handling forum. Since you're a Proven Member you should have posted it there in the first place.
