18X9/9.5 wheels, whos running them?

I think that we should have a thread that has people post up their pics of their cars and what rims (size, brand and offset) and what tires (size and brand) and how they fit and if they are lowered and what shocks and springs and howlowered they are. Also any comments on their set up. this way we could see how the stuff fits by the pic and pm for questions about the set up. Also it would be nice to see a bunch of different wheel combos.
The evo forum has something like this. why can't we????

sounds like a good idea! someone start a thread.

well i think i am going with 18x9+30 and roll the fender to fit some 255's i think ill need 3mm spacers like the artist did but no worries there. im even lookingin to those same rota's but in gold.

thanks for all the help guys!

We had multiple threads start out like that, but they all ended when people just started posting pics and no details, and then people stopped replying. Thats why I try to post wheel dims/tire dims/offset, etc anytime I post in a wheel thread.

Here is the thread on 18x9.5 +22 on a 2g that apparently was not posted in my other reply:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/handling-tech/282139-new-wheels-18x9-5-22-stock-body.html

Also, there was a website set up about wheel sizing awhile ago. I had it saved on my last computer, but not on my work laptop. Anyone have the link?

The only problem with that link was that there were tire fitments that didnt "fit" in the guide, yet somehow worked on my car/my friends cars. Play with offset/size yourself a little bit. Ill mount the 18x9.5 245s tonight for you guys to see.

Based on what I've run with my car, I think the biggest difference between the 9 and 9.5" wheels will determine how big of a tire you can run. Of course offset will play a huge factor into this, but say using an offset that allows you to run the wheel as inboard as possible to keep the wheels in the arches and a set diameter (negating 17 or 18). Then if you are looking for that stretched look, then 9.5 with 225-235 size wheels will have the shoulders stretched, allowing them a little clearance to the fenders. If you want to run a 255, I'm pretty sure they will rub heavily both in the front and rear with a 9.5.

Just for reference I'm running 17x9-35 and have spun everything from a 255/40/17 street tire, R-comp (R888, NT-01), and 235/45/17 Hoosier on these. Rear fenders are rolled.

Suspension does factor into this as stock height cars fair better than lowered...unless you are using fairly high spring rates. Alignment too.
