i know this may be a questioned that has been answered somewhere else but i could not find it. what is the difference in the turbos on the evos. i here some say to get an evo 3 16g but what about a 16g off a evo 8. thanks for any kind of help you can give to a newbie

The evo 8 turbo is not going to be a very easy install. The turbos are backwards i guess one could say.

Plenty of people have made very nice power with a e316g. I dont think all the work to install a Evo 8/9 turbo would be worth it.

Stick with e316g its a proven turbo, Just stay away from ebay stuff

He speaks the truth....If you want to really build it and you do have the money to spend on the setup you want for not only the turbo but all the supporting mods and for the instillation parts than by all means go ahead.

It's been done by a fellow DSMtuner, but not worth it IMHO. I can tell you first hand my EVO3 16g hits a crap load harder than my friends EVO9 16g, and that setup was running 26 psi but the boost hit is so damned mild it isn't even funny. I thought the twin scroll turbine would provide a huge whack of torque on the bottom end, but because the turbine housing is also supersized along with the compressor housing, alot of that spool advantage gets marginalized. Just be glad we even have an EVO3 16g available to us.

thanks for all the advicee i think i am just gonna go with a evo 3 16g and i am sure i wil be happy with that. thanks again
