so i am about to rebuild my big 16g turbo. just wondering what do i use to lube up the parts when insalling everything. also i read in the the tech guide that it isnt that important to scribe the shaft. could someone give some input on this. thank you

You should scribe the shaft if the compressor locknut has evidence of balance grinding which would signal that the turbo's rotating assembly has been balanced. Otherwise, the parts have been balanced individually and their clock positioning makes no difference.

I normally use engine assembly lube on the bearings and shaft to prevent damage upon initial startup. If you don't have access to engine assembly lube, Lucas Oil Stabilizer works great as well.
